Episcopal High School’s campus is known for its academic tradition, historic architecture, and carefully maintained grounds. When Hurley Home Roofing was selected to complete multiple roofing projects across campus, the work required a thoughtful approach that balanced modern performance with preservation.
The scope included a combination of residential-style buildings and highly visible historic and specialty structures, each with its own requirements and constraints.
Project Overview
This multi-phase project involved roofing work across several areas of the Episcopal High School campus, spanning both residential housing and prominent specialty structures.
Work included the replacement of seven residential roofs across campus housing buildings, as well as a series of highly visible historic and architectural projects. Specialty work was completed on Hoxton House, including a front-facing synthetic slate roof replacement and the application of a synthetic protective coating.
Additional roofing projects were completed at the Centennial Gymnasium and the Squash Courts, each requiring careful coordination to meet the needs of an active academic campus.
Scope of Work
One of the most prominent components of this project was Hoxton House, a historic building with a highly visible, front-facing roofline. The existing roof was replaced using synthetic slate, selected to preserve the traditional appearance of the structure while delivering modern durability and weather resistance.
A synthetic roof coating was also applied to Hoxton House to enhance protection and extend the lifespan of the roofing system.
Additional specialty projects, including the Centennial Gymnasium and the Squash Courts, required careful coordination and execution to ensure long-term performance while minimizing disruption to campus activity.
Across all buildings, attention to detail, proper material selection, and adherence to installation standards were critical to meeting the expectations of a historic academic institution.
